TED:

TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and Open TV Project, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

TEDx:

In the spirit of Ideas Worth Spreading, TEDx is a locally organized program that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.While the content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, all TEDx events have
several features in common. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.

TEDxSPSU:

Entrepreneurship Development Cell, EDC believes that cross-disciplinary thinking, art and courageous initiatives will be the key factors shaping our world in the 21st century and Entrepreneurship will contribute the most in the development of India. This is what we wish to propagate through this TEDx event in a small group.
Small minds talk about people, mediocre minds talk about things but great minds talk about ideas. TEDxSPSU will try to get great minds from different disciplines of knowledge to combine and discuss ideas that can shape our future and spark deep discussions that matter.
